Andrew Kearney, EIT
Andrew is a civil engineer with a strong background in site development, stormwater management, and infrastructure design. With degrees in Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering from West Virginia University, he has spent nearly a decade working on land development projects across both the private and public sectors. His expertise includes grading and drainage design, erosion control, stormwater management, and utility coordination for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
During his time at Dewberry Engineers Inc., Andrew worked extensively on site and civil land development projects, leading grading, drainage, utility, landscape, and stormwater management design for a variety of commercial and residential sites. He prepared grading plans, storm drain calculations, and hydrology reports while helping ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including the Chesapeake Preservation Act. His work also included electrical utility design, traffic control planning, and erosion and sediment control measures that successfully moved through local permitting processes.
Andrew also has experience with stormwater facility retrofits, large-scale drainage assessments, and land-use permitting for infrastructure projects. He has coordinated with municipal agencies, landscape architects, private developers, and transportation departments to deliver efficient, regulation-compliant designs. In addition, he has supported gas pipeline infrastructure and traffic control permitting efforts, helping meet both safety and engineering standards.
With strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and erosion control strategies, Andrew brings a practical, results-driven approach to site development. His ability to integrate stormwater and grading solutions into complete land development plans makes him a valuable resource for projects navigating complex regulatory requirements while optimizing site performance and long-term functionality.
